OMG Racing is one of the most exciting modern names in motorsport, who have rapidly built a strong team who share a unique place in the British Superbike paddock and with passionate fans around the world.
In 2019 the team will compete in its second season in the British Superbike Championship with Luke Mossey and Josh Elliott.
OMG Racing was founded in December 2017 by three bike-mad businessmen; Chris Oscroft, Greg McPhail and Alan Gardner, and the team are all set to start making history from this point on by staying true to their having fun and winning races.
The founders have a strong passion for racing and saw that there was a gap between the ‘Father & Son’ teams and the factory teams. They identified the need for a 100% professional race team that could be run as a successful business, whilst still retaining the passion and heart of the grassroots teams that make BSB such a wonderful spectacle.
What are we about in 4 words?
“Having Fun. Winning Races.”
In the 2018 season, the very first OMG Racing Superbike was piloted by Former European Superstock 600 and Moto2 competitor Gino Rea. Gino enjoyed a strong season with progress being made in each of the early rounds, whilst also securing a World Superbikes wildcard entry. Continuously developing throughout the year having never ridden at the majority of BSB circuits, Gino picked up his season best result of P7 at Silverstone before claiming a memorable P1 in the first practice session at Assen.
OMG’s 2018 Superstock 1000 pilot Josh Elliott joined part-way through the season, replacing Ben Luxton (Who the team continue to sponsor) but was quick to impress. The former Superstock 1000 Champion brought OMG Racing their first win at Thruxton which was a highlight in a streak seeing the Ulsterman register another win at Silverstone along with 4 further podiums. For the last two races of the season the team was promoted to the Superbike class as the OMG Racing team expanded, registering his best result on a Superbike with P10 in race 2 at Brands Hatch.
